Katherine has been dabbling in the ICT4D space since wikis were all the rage, but monochromatic candybar phones are her one true love, although human-centered design is a close second. In addition to all things mobile, she increasingly finds herself documenting the challenges to freedom of expression and assembly online.

Although Katherine is partial to the Middle East, she is an equal opportunity implementer, with extensive experience in Southern and Eastern Africa, the Carribean and parts of Latin America, Eastern Europe, and Asia. She's especially fond of the power of civic participation, as all democracy development is actually a variation on the theme.  In her downtime, she enjoys counting her air miles, scaling boulders, and drinking foreign - yet oddly bland - beer.
